peter990099
I found this interesting fossil today while walking along the beach at Seaham on the Durham coastline in North East England and I was wondering if anyone has any idea to what it is. The fossil is on a flint nodule which was picked up from the tideline of the beach. the rock shown is roughly around 40mm by 30mm with the fossil being around 15mm across. abyssunder
That is a nice imprint in chert/flint of an echinoid test fragment showing the attachment point of a spine. Similar specimen here . 4 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. TqB
Abyssunder is quite right of course - I've never come across one from the north east coast although there is a lot of flint around. 1 Tarquin
