Perfectionpaving
Hello! Was hoping someone could tell me what i found today. Pretty sure it is a tooth. Im on vacation in pennsylvania and my buddy had some stone put down on his driveway; i found the tooth with the new gravel. Any info would be appreciated. I live close to the indiana university but will not be back for a week and I am really excited and do not want to wait to find out.
Kane
I'm not seeing any enamel so I'm doubtful this is a tooth. It looks geologic to me. Maybe others have a different opinion? ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Miocene_Mason
I'm thinking geological as well, sorry. But, just to make sure, can we have a approximate location? Or was it part of the gravel (so placed) “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
ynot
Welcome to TFF! I have to agree with the others-- a non fossil rock. It looks metamorphic with a piece of a mineral vein on one end. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." LordTrilobite
I don't see any kind of tooth. Looks like geology. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately, ...Milton PA has no Mesozoic exposures, so it wouldn't be a Dinosaur tooth, ...even if it was a tooth. However, you have a geologic item, and not a fossil.\ Regards, 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." RyanDye
I have a logged specimen similar to what your looking this rock has a similar depiction as you can see there is a larger rock of different material inside. This doesn't always work with teeth specifically but if you find what you think to be a bone or broken in half tooth sometimes if you lick your finger and press on it for 5 seconds when you take your finger off it will feel sticky that means it's bone like I said it's meant for more bone then teeth but if the tooth is exposed on the bottom or fractured into separate pieces it works one more thing looks are deceiving your much more likely to find a small tooth then a large one.
