Brachiopod, largest here yet.

Here is the largest brachiopod that I have found here yet.

I could see the very end of it in the matrix and it was loose. The chunk didn't break exactly where I wanted it to, never does, but it came out OK.

It was cracked into a few pieces so I glued it back together.

Finally found one "eatin' size".

Cheers.

It looks like you coated the inner part with glue? Was there a good reason for doing that? Unless it was crumbly and about to fall apart, it's a good idea to avoid coating a fossil with anything glossy, for photography reasons at least.

Thank you ynot.

Wrangellian, yes, I glued it back together then wiped the excess off with a damp rag.

It was still wet when photo'd. I was quite anxious to share it, I'll give it time to dry a bit next time ...... maybe.^_^

Thanks.

OK, that's good! I wondered if it might just be wet, but it looked more like it had that glazed look of glue.
