Miocene_Mason
I have these two rocks from the trilobite ridge that have all these shiny black (Hematized? Is that a thing?) shells. Any idea on taxon? “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

Al Dente
andreas is on the right track. These are inarticulate brachiopods. I can't find any information on Tristate Formation. What is the age?
Fossildude19
I agree with inarticulate brachiopod. Could be Orbiculoidea sp. if it was from the Lower New Scotland Formation. (Lower Devonian) Lingula sp. is also reported from there, as well. Info HERE. Miocene_Mason
It's hard there, I feel like I was jumping strata every step I took. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
