I have these two rocks from the trilobite ridge that have all these shiny black (Hematized? Is that a thing?) shells. Any idea on taxon?

andreas is on the right track. These are inarticulate brachiopods. I can't find any information on Tristate Formation. What is the age?

I agree with inarticulate brachiopod.

Could be Orbiculoidea sp. if it was from the Lower New Scotland Formation. (Lower Devonian)

Lingula sp. is also reported from there, as well.

Info HERE.
