Petrified wood and geode help!!

Can anyone shed some light on these two specimens. I was given these from my technician last week. They were the possessions of her grandfather, who passed away last month. I told her TFF might be able to provide some info. Thanks for looking.

@ynot best me to it, petrified palm wood, possibly from Texas.

Not just any Quartz, a good quality double terminated one

what is the size of that quartz crystal?

 

Yes, the geode is most definitely from MEXICO.

I thought the "grain" looked large for a palm, but was not sure.

Very nice! Love the preservation of this tree fern! The geode looks like a very beautiful example of the Oco geodes from Brazil. :)

2nd is agate and quartz. 3rd is quartz too (veriety amethyst if purple).
