Wonderful report and pictures, Roger. :wub: 

I enjoy seeing all of the great work you do on the ammonites.

I really have a soft spot for the smaller ammonites, though. :) 

 

I have to ask, .. Do you use the Estwing exclusively, to remove the ammonites, or do you also employ other tools?

Thanks, Tim. The Estwing is the one I use the most, but I also use a flat and a pointed chisel, a club hammer and a crowbar if necessary. I also like to lay the Estwing down for judging the size in photos.

Very nice @Ludwigia! The soup to nuts photo experience is quite nice. Of course, you sent me to Google translator so I could understand the meaning of "Klein aber Fein"! It certainly does seem appropriate now that I know what it means. :P
