There are many fossils to find out there in the big world we live in, and beyond. Finding some of them ourselves, we have probably amassed quite sizeable collections over the years. The question of the day; Which of your finds holds a special place in your heart?

For me so far, that would be my Small but proud Aphelaspis Brachyphasis trilo. My first trilo, as well as my first find very close to where I live, This little guy is also probably the very best of the Conasauga trilos I have had the pleasure of collecting. Pics;

Thumb comparison:

Positive:

Negative:

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

That's a cute little trilobite!!

I have two personal finds that, to me, stand out above the others in my collection. All three are marine reptile fossils so you might think i specifically collect them but that's just where i seem to have most of my luck at the locations i visit lol.

#1- Three still-articulated vertebrae from Ichthyosaurus, found just like this on Charmouth Beach in England. About 195 million years old (Jurassic).

#2- This slab of rock has a variety of stuff on it, including a large marine reptile rib section (probably Ichthyosaur), three Ichthyosaur teeth in varied condition, a section of turtle shell, various other bone fragments and also a couple of small shark teeth. Found at Richmond again. 100 million years old.

Nice stuff you guys.  I think this has been done before, but here are two of my favorites.  My first big fish and one of my best trilos.

Well...aside from the partial Pteranodon I don't get to keep because it's valued over $1,000....probably these:

Articulated verts and pair of ribs from a juvenile Diprotodontid

-Palorchestes jaw

-What is most likely a large tortoise/turtle ungual from Aus-possibly Meiolaniid or a new species.

Hmm.. so many favourites also... I'd say any of the leaf fossils I gave Skye all those years back :D

Im partial to this Diprotodon optatum jaw as it's my most complete. The memories of getting it with my dad are some of my favourites.

Also do you have a bigger pic of the chimaeroid spine?
