Is this a bison tooth fossil?

Hiya I just found this tooth it is 4cm long on the earth of a house Reno. My guess was a bison but we are in Toronto Canada not many bison here. How old is it? What mammal is it? Please help solve the mystery

Welcome to the forum.

I can't tell you what mammal this tooth came from, but an ID might help pin down its age.

If for example it's an extinct or locally absent species you might be able to figure out a ballpark age.

That is if it hasn't been transported there by people.

Apart from radiocarbon dating, it can be hard to pin it down further unless it is in context with artifacts of a known period for example.

Looks bovid to me, let's see what others say :)

Definitely bovid, but the images are not adequate to determine which bovid.  Teeth typically require perpendicular views of left, right, and occlusal surfaces.

Ok after reading abit I think this is the pic of the stylid and sadly maybe a cow. Rats I was Hopi g for exotic but I'll leave it up to you!

Did you find this item in Scarborough in the east end of Toronto?

Hiya, no I found it by Dufferin Grove park, the West end of Toronto in the rubble of a house under renovation. The College and Dufferin area, any idea if it is just an ordinary cow?
