fifbrindacier
Hi, i found this gasteropod in a piece of earth that had the same color than the matrix of an Exogyra couloni (also called Aetostreon) and sticked with that matrix. It was in the fallen rocks of the mount Granier on the boarder of the road, so the period is uncertain, but i think it is hauterivian (-123 _ - 117 MY). I also found a toxaster sp. I tried to find it out but without success. It also might be something very more recent. "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." Coco
Have a look on Clausiliidae family. Yours looks like recent ! I have Clausilia (Clausilia) bidentata from my department, but the teeth (yes, in french we say "les dents" which are in the aperture) aren't the same. To determinate the species, you have to observe teeth in the aperture. May we have a close-up please ? fifbrindacier
Here are pics of the aperture, i'm sorry, but that's the less blurry i could get. The of the snails. Coco
Perhaps Clausilia ( Clausilia ) bidentata, but I am not sure, I can't see very well the teeth... Is it possible you draw the aperture (on the bottom of the drawing and the apex on the top) ? abyssunder
For nice examples and details you could check this site.
