Paleoworld-101
Excellent month for marine reptiles, especially mosasaurs! "In Africa, one can't help becoming caught up in the spine-chilling excitement of the hunt. Perhaps, it has something to do with a memory of a time gone by, when we were the prey, and our nights were filled with darkness..." -Eternal Enemies: Lions And Hyenas
Max-fossils
Congrats everyone on those incredible finds! I think that random.org will be useful to me for the vote Btw, there's little time left! Bguild
I'll sneak one last entry in! At just over 3 feet in length this is one of the larger tree ferns to come out of Rhode Island. This one came from the Cory's Lane fossil locality. The first two images are the untouched fossil the day I found it. Only part of the second half of this imprint survived, but both halves can be seen in the first photo below. The last two images are after the frond was coated with PVA solution to help preserve the fossil over the years. Name: Fossil Tree Fern - Pecopteris sp. Age: Carboniferous (Pennsylvanian) Formation: Rhode Island Formation Location: Portsmouth, Rhode Island Date Found: August 6, 2017 Before Preparation: After Preparation:
