giant vertebrae

This came from a quarry in San Patricio county. It's pourous and larger than any other vertebrae I've found. Thanks

It's looks like a vert to me, especially with this new picture, don't know what it could be though, what's the age of the deposits, and is it land or marine?

It is the surface of the centrum, has usual texture. Here's a whale neck vert I have with a similar texture. Kinda bump and smooth. The bone texture should only be on worn parts, right?

On the second picture you can see bone structure on the top.

It looks like a canaliculate rudist, to me.

I have to agree with Tony on this one. It does seem to have the general shape, but I see nothing that tells me it is bone. Maybe more pictures and some close ups of the "texture" can help.

That shot shows the cellular structure much better. Abyssunder might be onto something.
