I do agree with Tony that it is bone, but I would like to see better more in focus pictures from all angles. I'm not going to say it is not part of a vertebra, but I am not so sure about that. Good quality pictures, well focused with the object being the center of attention can make the difference of something being positively ID'd or just speculated about.
