ynot
Welcome to TFF! It looks like a fish skull element. What is the size? Can You post pictures of the sides and back? Miocene_Mason
Well if it smells it's modern, it either stick in in an airtight container if you wanna keep it or through it away. 1 “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
ynot
There is a lot of sand on the last view. Is this stuck to the bone or can it be washed off? The smell could be from algae from where it was found and will become less prevalent if You let it "air out" for awhile. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." fossiling
If it smells, it may be modern. If you want to keep modern bones you can use hydrogen peroxide to bleach them white. Keep looking! They're everywhere!
Mr.Marcus
It's from a catfish. Flip it over. Do you see the will resemblance of a crucifix.
