meg.cu Posted August 28, 2017 Share Posted August 28, 2017 This tooth was found in a limestone quarry very close to Pinar del Rio, Vinales Valley, in the western part of Cuba. The limestone in this part of the province is very fossil rich. It is known to contain fossil remains of prehistoric marine reptiles and mollusks. Macrophyseter Posted September 19, 2017 Share Posted September 19, 2017 That one crack in the root is pretty salt-grinding, as otherwise the tooth would be in perfect condition (the perfection of the tip is quite stunning). At least one guy on the forum might be dying for that, he's been posting all over looking for meg teeth in matrix some time ago before giving up.
