Hove beach pebble

Recommended Posts

I picked up this pebble on Hove Beach (Sussex, UK). Is the egg shape within it part of the natural stone, or some sort of fossil? The shape is 24mm long.

Hove Beach pebbles are mostly flint and brought from the west by long-shore drift. This pebble appears to have had a surface knocked off.
