sharko69
looking through some matrix tonight and found what looks like a claw. It is roughly 1cm long. Matrix comes from North Texas Eagle Ford Cretaceous. Any ideas? Thanks as always for help.
fossilized6s
It definitely is a claw. I can't tell if it's a fossil or not though....really tough to say. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

Under 1cm but have only a couple of turtle and one dimetridon claw that I have ever found so this is new one for me. Thanks.
Fossildude19
I don't think it is curved enough to be a bird claw. Not sure what else it could be, though. See this thread. Is this curve the same in shore and marine birds with webbed feet? "I am glad I shall never be young without wild country to be young in. Auspex
12 minutes ago, PFOOLEY said: Is this curve the same in shore and marine birds with webbed feet? Yes, but such bird claws are typically more slender (less robust), and with a less pronounced muscle attachment 'knob' on the proximal end.
