Hi all,

Found this little tooth hiding in between my pycndont fish teeth from Balegem. I quickly realized that this wasn't in the right place, and it reminded me of something else.

So, is it maybe a very worn Nebrius thielensi? Or is it something else?

It's from Balegem, Belgium (closed location). From the Lede Sand Formation. From the Lutetian stage of the Eocene (45 mya).

Thanks in advance!

Max

Wow, a nurse shark would have been on the bottom of my lists, probably because I would have forgotten there was such shark as one

Great catch Max!

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

@Max-fossils I see you edited your initial post with this ..... So, is it maybe a very worn Nebrius thielensi? Or is it something else?

I dont know if I would go as far as to call it Nebrius thielensis due to the extreme wear on the tooth, If it were in my collection I would label it as Nebrius sp.

Ummm... I did not edit my post. Maybe you just skipped a line? :headscratch:

I immediately suggested N. thielensi, as, I think, it is the only Nebrius species of the Lede Sand formation.
