Fossil??

Hi guys! 

 I found this seashell in a normal sand near my house.Can someone tell me is this fossilized seashell or a modern one?

How far from a water source are You?  Looks like a modern fresh water clam that is commonly used as fish bait.

There is really no way to be sure. It is possible that it was brought there by someone many years ago.

If You can find more there then it becomes more likely to be a fossil.

I think it is a modern species of Corbicula, the Asiatic clam. It is an invasive species that has spread to many countries. It is found in most rivers in the US and a quick Google search shows it is in Serbia.
