Tooth ID request

Sorry, what you have pictures is not a tooth. There is no enamel present nor any feature that would make me a least consider some type of tooth. It does have a vague general shape of a tooth.

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt

Wow, that thing is a real trickster. The shape itself looks so much like a tooth and there even is a crack that makes it look like the crown and root arnt the same thing. But again, there is no enamel, and even if the enamel was peeled off, the texture and shape of the "root" isn't right. Like caldigger said, I'll have to suggest some sort of small bone.

Even though I'm still thinking that this fossil isnt a tooth, you don't always need enamel to id a tooth. Enamel can always be completely peeled off or missing. I have a few teeth with absolutely no enamel.

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!
