Fossil sites NJ?

Cryptid9

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of good fossil sites near central New Jersey? I know of Big Brook, does anyone know what kind of fossils can be found there? I would like to eventually go on a trip to Utah or the Dakotas for a spring break or something, but I might as well start locally.

Thanks for the help

The brooks are Cretaceous, so belemnites, bone pieces, mosasaur teeth and such are possible finds. using a geologic map to find fossiliferous formations and then using google maps to identify outcrops is a good way of going about finding good sites.
