Hello,

Found these interesting "fronds" in the Silica Shale on Sunday.  My best guess at the moment is the bryozoan Reptaria stolonifera.  Looking for confirmation or other suggestions. Hope these photos are sufficient. It was a tough one to photograph.

As Doushantuo has pointed out numerous times, Reptaria is now interpreted as "colonial, phoronid-like invertebrates with retractable lophophores."

"It was a tough one to photograph"... I could imagine! It looks like one of those things that you have to get the lighting and shadows just right to see it well. Nice find.

You are exactly right.  I fiddled with an LED photography light to get the shadows just right.  I am very happy with this find.  Adds a new phylum to the collection!
