Huge restored 6+" megalodon favorite tooth ever

This is my favorite restoration ever. I always find it easier to restore the root, so this was the perfect tooth for me. I have never seen a tooth with such incrediblle lines on the back of the enamel. some of the lines go diagonally to form a sort of grid. Let me know if you have any idea how that happened. I hope you enjoy!

Nice prep, and huge meg! I've only held one that size once, and it was awe inspiring!

Nice job!

The cracking is often caused by stress to the tooths surface. This can include shrinkage as well as geologic forces.

How are you able to match the root paint? I tried once, but had a difficult time matching the black color realistically.

The key is to have a lot of different paint colors, and a lot of patience. I try to find the underlying colors and layer/mix them, hope that helps. When I say a lot of paint colors, I mean A LOT. Like about 30, all in shades that would most likely be useful and abundant in teeth.
