In front of Fouras, there are little isles. On one of them there is the fort Lediot and the fort Boyard.

There is also the isle of Aix, where Napoleon Bonaparte was prisoner before his departure for Sainte-Hélène.

Here are some fossils in situ i saw on that isle :

Nice finds and scenery!

Did You make the islands separate from the mainland (at low tide) with all the pieces You took?

Thanks Ynot.

Tooking things on the isle Madam is forbidden because it is a natural reserve. I took the Rynchostreonae and the carditae on the shore of the mainland. I found the Polyconites at half-way between the mainland and the isle. I found the others on both that way and the mainland.

The ones found at low tide are not only green because of the water and algae, but also because of the matrix that is more greenish than on the shore.

Can you please post a couple of pictures of what you found?  Lol!  Looks like you had a great time between tides.

Hi Sophie!

I really like this oyster!  Are those barnacles that I see on top of it?  Super-cool!

I didn't know Ile Madame is a natural reserve now. I wondered if you had found cenomanian sea urchins.

To tell you the truth i kept a great hope to find one until my last day there. But i didn't found one, maybe because i lack experience to detect fossils of urchins, maybe they were just invisible when i walked to try to find them or maybe i was some meters too far to see one.

I just know the isle Madame is a natural reserve because i saw a sign mentioning it at the entrance of the "road".

I did, you can see them on the first page. I'll also need help to identify some of them, so you'll see more soon. And i'll post back the ones identified once i'll have prepped them.
