I wish you success in your search!  I am lucky with these bits of silicified wood . . . the examples in these images have been sold into other collections.  I sell these on eBay from time to time.  I keep only a few special pieces in my personal collection (see my Gallery album).  I will be offering more specimens at auction soon.

Thank you all for your compliments.

Once, during a fossil hunt, a member of my club found a nice and big piece of petrified floated wood. He was so proud of his found ! But he wondered about the little round pink things on it. I wondered if it could be some kind of foraminifer and touched one. It was soft and flexible. He was so disappointed.

I mean by telling this that the petrified wood look sometimes so much the actual one that one can be easily lured. I found it in a place where there are oyster beds made with pieces of wood and just before that one i found a bigger floated wood, much heavy but not petrified.

Okay Sophie @fifbrindacier and @Harry Pristis you wanted to see some of my petrified wood, seeds and cones, well here are a few of my favorites.

 

1. A petrified log section from the Miocene of Indonesia, the measurements are 11" by 7" by 5".

2. Palmoxylon Sp. from the Oligocene of Texas.

Yeah, I just saw an exact looking piece in another thread here on TFF.:rofl:

 

It is not necessary to post the same piece in 2 threads.:D

By the way- termite coprolites are hexagonal not round.
