Kennethbe62
A friend of mine had a relative find this recently. We are trying to figure out what made that pattern. Fish? Plant?
ynot
Welcome to TFF! What You have is a bryozoan. It is an animal. Similar to coral. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
TqB
Yes, a fenestrate bryozoan, with the actual bryozoan mostly dissolved away to leave the impression. (Look up Fenestella for similar although there are quite a few other genera it may be.) Tarquin
abyssunder
Yup, pretty nice bryozoan! Almost looks like Fenestella retiformis. picture from here " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
