Lockatong Formation Limb Bone ID Help Needed

Found this bone eroding out of a shale layer near a creek in the Lockatong-Formation on Montgomery county Pennsylvania. It measures roughly 10cm long, not sure about this one, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

a good sharp close up shot of the broken end would help. Good to see someone prospecting the Lockatong! Section must have been very weathered. That rock is almost if not actually argillite which is hard as heck.

I am in the plant camp as well.

My first impression was root cast.

But, this view looks like it may have striations down the length of it, which could indicate a cast of something from the Equisetites. group.

Can this be cleaned, any further, and pictures taken outside in bright sunlight?

Also, pics of both ends and all 4 sides would be good.

Prop it up on a flat surface, rather than holding it in hand - this can reduce blur caused by shaking hands.

Little by little I'm cleaning it but the matrix is very hard so it's taking some time. Thanks for the photo advice, will do. I appreciate all the help, I'm new to the Lockatong -Formation and look forward to a thorough education!

An Equisetites that big that isn't flattened would be a very impressive find. Plant material is very rare in the Lockatong Formation where I collect.

starting to look like a burrow structure to me now but not a definite ID. Are those crystals in the cross section?

have a pic of the outcrop by any chance?

I'm leaning towards burrow or root cast, myself.
Just not seeing enough detail on the item to say much else.

No crystals but it does look that way from the photo. This was somewhat of an unexpected find so I didn't have a camera on me. Thank you to everyone for the suggestions, good to have a better idea of what I'm working with here.
