Could you take photos in where the light is not so harsh? It is hard to make out any good details.

Looks to me like a Vertebrae of some kind, but it doesn't look like anything I can recognize, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to help.

After editing the photos, I'm not sure it even looks like bone.

Maybe others will weigh in.

It's probably much too small and fragmentary to ID it, if it is bone.

Napoleon: Is this from a lag deposit ? That may explain the confusion. Broken surfaces get bashed into looking like an original.

I found a specimen in the ground. In this position often come teeth chalk sharks. However, there are also contemporary rubbish and, for example, medieval times.

Is it just me or did we just take a turn toward turtle ? Definitely some kind of bone.

Wow  turtle And where did the turtle go?

The only tortoises that could live here were mud turtles.

But it's probably too big for him? Maybe someone dug a dead turtle?
Or is it from the Cretaceous?

Could easily be just me. It's small to get much of a clue from the internal texture.

I think it could be an ankle or wrist bone, but that is a guess.

Fossil or young bone ?

Have you tried the burn test? If you apply flame, does it give off a smell and black smoke? If so, it is likely recent.
