cbish24601
Found this at the beach near Jacksonville Florida - I was thinking it might be a shark tooth - its about 2 inches long. The picture is of it sitting next to my Gear Head Nano wireless mouse.
Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Not a shark tooth, as there is no enamel present. Could you take a few more pictures of the item outdoors? Front and back, from directly above the fossil, rather than at an oblique angle. Plax
could be a shark tooth covered in epibionts such as bryozoan. Most likely a shark tooth shaped piece of limestone though. Hope it's the former!
Miocene_Mason
Maybe the enamel has worn off? The problem is, I cannot think of a similarly shaped shark tooth so I'm gonna have to go with geological unless pictures that suggest different are offered. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
