Thanks Bobby, i'm very pleased with them all. :)

Only the end for now I hope, there's several Moroccan Cambrian trilos I aim to acquire.

I only have four more to post for Adam's Ordovician (including two beauties from you) and then it's on to Adam's Silurian.

Indeed there is always room for more in your Cambrian collection. Your thread has been very interesting and enjoyable

thanks  bobby

Beautiful collection! Very well done, indeed. Some of those specimens are to die for. :trilo:

It hasn't come out too well in the photo

Yeah, that was a difficulty when I was posting the Conasauga bugs from my adventures years back. Now I've learned that turning on a desk lamp and holding the bugs at a certain angle casts a shadow over all the details, showing them in their full glory. Used this photo method when photographing specimens from my last 2 trips to the place.

Very nice Adam, I say those are great looking examples and some nice close up pics.

All down to you, my friend, that matrix was wonderful, and productive.

And i'm glad that a little Barrandagnostus has some 'shell' preservation. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

And from Jay

A nice Wheeler Shale Itagnostus interstrictus from the Wheeler Shale, Millard County, Utah.

It's bigger than the ones I already have at a whopping 7 mm and has some great detail. Different colour, too.

And next up is a new Elrathia kingii recieved as part of a the Spring had Sprung prize from @Monica via an auction she won from @ynot

So this trilo's been around a bit.

20180425_223211-1.thumb.jpg.f8a4b0d35b43a63a97285f7d1b60753e.jpg

It needs a bit of work so i'm going to try and prep it using my new pin vice from @JohnBrewer which i haven't used as yet.Pinvice.thumb.jpg.07b474f2a3d1114cb884e80f0a5f4832.jpg

Wish me luck, as depending on my prepping and what this trilobite ends up like, it may well end up going to a fourth forum member , perhaps in a fourth country!

It hasn't had its passport stamped in a European country yet. :D

Unfortunately, the Elrathia in matrix was just a partial.

@MonicaStill, I'll pop it now and then clean it up, it should be quite presentable.

@JohnBrewer The new pointy thing has been brilliant so far, i'll see what it's like for detailed prepping now.

And then I'll bash the rock that's left to bits and see what i come up with. :)

The pin vice is great to use and the pins that came with it beautifully sharp compared to the pins and needles i'm used to using.

Result!

And i haven't even punctured myself.

Yet.

So the result of my boshing and prepping; not much, but a nice partial Elrathia and a couple of smaller bits including a one or two fragments of Itagnostus I fancy.

Well, I posted this in the id section and no one could say for sure one way or another.

A chlorophyte / green algae?

They do occur looking much like this in the Conasauga Fm. but not necessarily at this location.

I don't know, but I'm staying sort of on the fence.

The longest string of attached cells is 2 mm .

Very nice collection.  I started my fossil collection with Trilobites about 30 years ago but migrated to sharks and dinos.  Still love all the variety and that you have a complete animal most of the time not just a piece.
