Sponge again

From lake shore glacial deposits adjacent to the Hurricane Mt. formation. Terms like altered and dynamic are used to describe the formation, but the sponge Diagoniella was used to date the deposits. Could this be an example ?

Specimen might be hardly eroded and silicified, but it looks very spongy to me. Maybe not Diagoniella sp., but similar one from that realm and geological time.

There seems to be some uncertainty in the genus used to date the formation as well. They also list Protospongia sp.

It's definitely had a rough existence, but a first in my collection at any rate. :)

Thanks

It took a few tries. Volcanic tuff, coral, sandstone :(, and the like.
