Nimravis
Today I was in Southern Illinois and made a Quick stop at a road cut near Anna, Illinois, just off of Interstate 57. This exposure is: Upper Mississippian Middle Chesterian Series Golconda Formation Harvey Member I found a few nice hash plates and some blastoids, Archimedes’ screw, brachiopods, Horn coral, Bryozoan, crinoid stems and one trilobite pygidium. caldigger
Now if that were in California there would be a barb wire fence along the road and it would be private property. There is far too much wasted land here "set aside" for the use of cattle, much you would never see a cow around. Yes, I am bitter! All the good dig spots are fenced off for cattle or oil exploration. We don't get a whole lot of roadcut opportunities round these parts.
Fossildude19
Very cool finds, Ralph! Thanks for the great report and pictures.
