Egg Fossil?

Location Cikembang Beach, Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia. Looks like an egg in size and shape. What could this be? Thanks.

It has shapes that do look somewhat like shell from a larger egg. There appears to be a shot of the texture forming a right angle to it's self in one place though which would have to dismiss the possibility.

Not an egg, but it could be a sponge, maybe a meandering sponge in flint.

Thanks to Rockwood and Abyssunder, I am attaching the sideviews. Now I am more confident that this is some kind of sponge. The tissue lines and lizard-skin-like texture confused me earlier. Thanks guys, appreciate it.

There were two possibilities in my thought. The second one was meandering coral, but your specimen is in a very worn condition and it's difficult to see some of the necessary details. I'm leaning now toward the latter option, meandering coral. It's a little confusing, I know, also to me. The supplementary pictures made me change my initial supposition.

I'm leaning toward something like an excrusted encrusting tabulate. I doubt this is a life assemblage.
