MaximusTN
Please help identify this tooth. This was found at the W.M. Browning Cretaceous Fossil Park in Frankstown, MS yesterday. It look like a back molar perhaps.
Plax
not sure of size but not liking it for a Cretaceous fossil.
Harry Pristis
It's a canid lower carnassial (m1), certainly not Cretaceous. Probably a domestic dog, but compare with these coyote teeth: http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
MaximusTN
Thanks for posting the coyote tooth. The tooth very much looks like the two examples on the left with the exception of the coloring. It definitely looked suspect to me for being from the Cretaceous period as the tooth still has a lot white in it (even with the black streaking).
