Devonian cephalopod plate

Recommended Posts

Manticocerasman

A few months back I managed to get a whole piece of one of the layers that delivered cephalopods.

I took the whole rock back home spotting only a few posible cephalopods.

After the prep work this is how it looked in the beginning:

multiple Goniatites and orthocones on 1 plate:

( Manticoceras, Sphearomanticoceras, Orthoceras )

Late Devonian ( Frasnian )

Chimay area ( Belgium)

Amazing! From looking like an especially lumpy lump to looking like something you might see in a museum.

What I meant was, it would be good if you could use an abrader on it.
