JustinFL
So my daughter decided she wanted to go look for shark teeth yesterday. I went to a nearby spot that we to this point had found very little, to my surprise we found some of the best color teeth I have personally ever seen. Any suggestions on how to clean the root? JMUFossil
Great meg! Love the orange/copper color, we do not see that color from the Calvert Cliffs where I hunt.
Troodon
Beautiful tooth. Root looks fine just slight discoloration. Use a tooth brush with a little water to brush off any loose deposits. Otherwise, I would leave it alone do not try to whiten it . It's normal not all teeth have white roots. I'm sure you're happy to have followed your daughters wishes. Leave perfection alone, just cherish and admire. Oh...and hunt for an even better one! (Hard to beat, but man, if you do!) I love the enthusiasm in her eyes, I think you have a budding, professor of paleontology!
JustinFL
I was pretty blown away by the colors, especially considering I’ve never seen color like this in my area. I’m going to leave it alone and mounted in a box with my daughters other Megalodon teeth. The best part is I have the video of her digging it out, so it makes it pretty special. Thanks everyone

Excellent color. @JustinFL you may want to reach out to @mattbsharks He is an expert in shark tooth restorations, and could restore the coloration on the root. I would not recommend tampering with the root on your own. Do or do not. There is no try. - Yoda

steelhead9
I think air abrasion is the only way to clean the root, but, boy, it's beautiful just as it is. I wouldn't touch it. Still Life Fossils

I am willing to help if need be, but I would definitely keep the tooth as is if I were you. Gorgeous find!
