My Best Megalodon so far!

Recommended Posts

JustinFL

So my daughter decided she wanted to go look for shark teeth yesterday. I went to a nearby spot that we to this point had found very little, to my surprise we found some of the best color teeth I have personally ever seen.

Any suggestions on how to clean the root?

Great meg! :meg:

Love the orange/copper color, we do not see that color from the Calvert Cliffs where I hunt.

Beautiful tooth.  Root looks fine just slight discoloration.  Use a tooth brush with a little water to brush off any loose deposits.  Otherwise, I would leave it alone do not try to whiten it .  It's normal not all teeth have white roots.

I'm sure you're happy to have followed your daughters wishes.

hard to beat colors on land found material, that's a real beauty you've got there:fistbump: I wouldn't touch the root

Your daughter made an excellent decision to look for shark teeth and you did a great job making it happen.  Great finds, especially the gorgeous meg. Congratulations to you both.

Agreed, awesome tooth, awesome color. Leave perfection alone, just cherish and admire. Oh...and hunt for an even better one! (Hard to beat, but man, if you do!)

I love the enthusiasm in her eyes, I think you have a budding, professor of paleontology!

I was pretty blown away by the colors, especially considering I’ve never seen color like this in my area. I’m going to leave it alone and mounted in a box with my daughters other Megalodon teeth. The best part is I have the video of her digging it out, so it makes it pretty special.

Thanks everyone
