[Troodon]

Tyrannosaurus rex, the initial indication that a big beast existed.  This is the first recorded specimen of a T rex tooth collected in 1874.  Displayed at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History,  not described until 1905.

 

 

Yes other than footprints, dinosaur material has been found in Connecticut.  The Jurassic dinosaur skull of Anchisaurus polyzelus,  Peabody Museum of Natural History. 

 

 

 

The label says it all.  Type specimen described 1827.  The term Dinosaur was coined 1842 by Richard Owens.

 

 

 

Did you known that the holes in the dentary of the famous T rex "Sue" were caused by a Trichomonosis like protozoan that may have killed her.   Based on other the frequency found on other specimens it's hypothesize that tyrannosaurids were commonly infected by this type of avian parasite.
