MOB
Greetings! We found this fossilized egg on the banks of the clay cliffs in Maryland. We frequently find fossilized shark teeth, stingray jaws, whale vertebrae, and megalodon teeth on the same banks. It was a round/oval shape with a crack in the top and we proceeded to break it open (not the best idea now!). You can clearly see the yolk and egg layers. We would love any help identifying it! Thank you!
Troodon
Welcome to the forum. It's geologic unfortunately, not an egg. Probably a concretion that looks like an egg.
Tidgy's Dad
Yes, just a concretion, I'm afraid. Convincing, though isn't it? Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Sagebrush Steve
Yes, a concretion. Here is a link to a web page that tells you more about them: https://www.priweb.org/outreach.php?page=edu_prog/earth101/concreations

Haravex
Yes it really does a footprint and an egg all in one haha, but yes concretions can get the better of us sadly in that they can trick us very easily especially for the beginner, and some times even the advanced fossil hunters. Please find attached some images of fossilized eggs so you have an idea of what they can look like and one day might help you to find a real specimen.
