Well I got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8) on Black Friday and was playing with it snapping some pictures. Those of you that have been to my house know that I am totally disorganized and definitely need to organize my fossils. Thought I would share some of the disorganized chaos that is my basement fossil dumping area. This tends to be where fossils go to rest if they do not make it to the glass display cases (3) upstairs where I put the good stuff. But then that is a step up from the ones that never get out of the map drawers and boxes in the garage. One of these days I will get around to organizing things, just never happens to be today....... I suspect my kids will end up having to organize it someday......... (That's a scary thought)

I have had a pegboard sitting around for years and never knew what to do with it, you just gave me an awesome idea! Amazing collection too!

Are you meaning the green river fish. Other than  that I really have nothing in the basement from out west unless you count a couple shelves of unwrapped Clarita /black cat stuff

If that is the "dumping ground" material what the heck do you have upstairs?  I can't believe that double Astrocystites isn't even worthy.  And a plate with multiple eurypterids doesn't make the cut? Anyway your "dumping ground" is better than 99% of my "upstairs cabinet" fossils.

Wow Malcolm that is an amazing collection . You cram them in, just the way I like a fossil display to look like. Creative use of pegboard too. Fantastic .

cheers Bobby

The astrocystites plate will make it upstairs at some point, but first I either need to get another glass cabinet from Ikea or do a major reorg. I currently have three Ilea glass cabinets in the living room. They are not that good for keeping large pieces of matrix until I build some display stands. Again something that is on the todo list along with getting organized and getting caught up on my prepping.

Bobby, I have limited space that the wife allows me to clutter up, so I cram in what I can. I get 1/3 of a laundry room for prepping, my basement rec room and three cabinets in the living room and about 1/3 of a 2 car garage. They are all reaching capacity.....

I have a fossil room not a basement, what a brilliant use of peg boards.
