aplomado
I'd like to whiten a fossil sea urchin. Is hydrogen peroxide effective and harmless? I'm thinking 3%... any tips?
caldigger
Not sure if is going to "whiten" your fossil, it tends to work well at assisting the cleaning process with stubborn matrix in crevices. I use whatever the over the counter percentage is on teeth and other such pieces with no problems experienced. Why do you want to whiten it? JohnBrewer
I don’t think it will whiten what is effectively rock. H2O2 is basic so will bleach things like modern bone. John Map of UK fossil sites
aplomado
The urchin has some stains on it, I wanted to remove. Thinking about making it into a necklace.
