Looking to Trade Meteorites for North American Dinosaurs

Hey all. I'm a long time meteorite collector but have decided to shift over to the fossil world at the moment. I have several hundred meteorites I would be willing to trade, and I'm looking for any North American dino material, preferably theropod. Also would be interested in spiny trilos. For those just looking for something cool, I have several lunar and martian specimens available. I also have several very nice HEDs (from the asteroid 4 Vesta) and other asteroidal achondrites, plus some interesting chondrites.

Now, if you haven't collected meteorites before, you might think "come on Connor, how the heck do you know those are actual meteorites?" Well, most of the specimens I have are classified and come directly from the owners or otherwise very reputable dealers. And how can you check this? Just look at the MetBull (https://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/), which is a database of information on every single classified meteorite in the world. Quite different than the fossil world!

Here's a few photos of specimens I have available. I have plenty others so if you're interested in anything in particular, just let me know.

Out of interest, do people go looking for Meteorites? or is the only way to buy them from a seller?

You can. But they're hard to recognize from piles of terrestrial rocks unless you have barren landscapes to look in, making Antarctica and the Sahara the most productive hunting grounds. There were a bunch of finds in the early 1900's in the southwestern US but that has been picked over mostly. Most everything that is classified these days comes from Morocco.

Interesting proposition, I don’t collect meteorites normally, but I would be interested in bediasite or georgiaite (of special interest because they are from the largest crater in the USA and the only one that I’ve stood in the middle of, or rather above the middle of). I have to see if I have any spiny trilos around, I think I have a few small greenops pygidia. Would you be interested in anything else (other than American Dino’s)

Happy hunting,

Hi Connorp, could you PM me your email? My friend is interested.

Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!
