Nimravis
Since @Jones1rocks has been posting Mazon Creek fossils for ID's, I thought that I would post two that have stumped me and I would appreciate any help. Both of these concretions look similar to me- the first one I only have a half and the second one I have both halves. Sometimes I think that they are flora and other times I think fauna- such as a shrimp, but I have no clue. I am really leaning towards fauna and I have never found any others that are similar. Here is the one with only 1 half- different views:

Sagebrush Steve
First one has sort of a lobster-ish shape. Some sort of arthropod?

digit
I too get a strong shrimp-like arthropod vibe from these. Can't say I've ever popped a nodule with something quite this intriguing inside. Love to hear a definitive pronouncement on these. Cheers. -Ken
Fossildude19
It looks a bit similar to this fossil in RCFossils' Gallery . Kottixerxes gloriousus ***BONUS FOSSIL: Yours also looks like it is on top of a fish scale. Tidgy's Dad
Is it too late for me to have a guess? If not i'll use my extensive knowledge and guess at shrimp molts. Probably Belotelson or Lobetelson. Do I win? Ahem. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
fossilized6s
Yup, Rob nailed it. Pretty typical Belotelson. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
