Uncle Siphuncle
I do most of my Texas collecting alone, maybe 90%. The rest is largely with wife, kid, or one of my tenured, trusted buddies. Still, sometimes it is fun to collect with new folks, particularly if I'm not hanging an important site out there vulnerably. The solution to this dilemma? Pay digs. And the Hill Country had several good ones this year. Here are some of my artifact finds. Grüße, Daniel A. Wöhr aus Südtexas "To the motivated go the spoils." jcbshark
Outstanding finds, pics and report Dan it’s hard to pick a favorite with so much good stuff but the artifacts are way up there and the bison bone with crystals is pretty amazing too. Plus your kid with those chompers Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
Ludwigia
Backwoods Woehr strikes again...and again...and again! And I assume that's just the tip of the iceberg. Great finds as ever, Dan! I'd love to go lick some stones with Skippy someday. But what? Only one gastropod??? 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. KimTexan
I meant to say earlier that the bison femur is awesome. I have never seen a bone interior crystallize quite like that. Kind of makes you wonder if the whole thing is like that. I can’t tell from the pic. Can you tell or is the view of the remaining bone shaft occluded? siteseer
Hi Dan, It's great to get another trip report from you. I hope the newer members hunt down your travelogues of years gone by - fun reading on a free afternoon or evening. You don't see too many fossil marmot jaws.
