I unearthed this specimen in Austin, TX. Have been very intrigued to find out its origin. It weighs a rough approximate of 10-12lbs.

Agreed. Geological, probably.

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

I'll have to agree with the others. No sign of bone structure, at least in these unsharp photos. It's often amazing what forms wind, water, weather and chemical solutions can create over the years.

Yes natural. These make for wonderful additions to an aquarium but be aware it can change the balance of the PH of the water.

It being limestone and all it will lower the ph and make for some sickly fishys.

fortunately the effect goes way after a while.

Allowing a little algae to grow on them makes for some cool effects in your tank.

They make for wonderful additions to your flower garden as well.

Using the natural holes and secure open end to the ground for rooting they are really cool.

Here's one I found near Lake Travis down Austin way.

Mine weighs about 6 pounds.

I placed some other fossils in the holes and mine is creepy to say the least.

I found quite a few but could only load just so much into my vehicle.

Welcome to The Fossil Forum, Sarah May!

I agree with the others.  That is a classic piece of 'honeycomb limestone' or Texas 'holey rock' which can be found in relative abundance in certain parts of Texas.  As bone2stone mentioned, this is a popular decoration in aquariums containing fish that like alkaline water (pH above 7), such as cichlids from the Rift Lakes of Africa.
