Coelacanth fossil?

Yes, either Piveteauia madagascariensis  or Whiteia woodwordi.

I'm leaning toward Whiteia.

Maybe Thomas  @oilshale will have a look at it. 

Too bad it isn't complete.

There is no taxon named Whitea :dinosmile: ;)

the same mistake was corrected in exactly the same way by me on may 2017:D

I have a hard time remembering whats for breakfast, ... no less spelling corrections from nearly a year ago.  :rolleyes:

My friend has a very well preserved fish fossil which looks like a coelacanth.  It’s collected from Guizhou, China.  Any idea what species it is?

Probably Luopingcoelacanthus eurylacrimalis sp. nov.
