Shellseeker
I am not positive what techniques others use when finding a blob of fossil or rock on the sieve. I turn it over once or twice and if I am not positive on whether it is fossil or rock, into the collection bag it goes. So a few days later, I am trying to figure out which are worth keeping: One of these is an excellent find, which I discovered 3 days later. Is it obvious which? I think I know what 2 of them are, have a good guess on a 3rd, but not clue on the 2nd and the 5th. So, another photo of the 2nd and the 5th. Maybe they are rocks..... The 1st is an Equus hoof and then this one I think is a hoof , but not sure whose hoof... That gets us to the last... If this is what I think, it is easily my best find of the day, and many fossil hunters would have tossed it. OK, gave you one, can you Identify the rest? Fossil or rock is a good start... MeargleSchmeargl
I believe the 2nd is a Crustacean burrow, as I have collected those on the Potomac before. Will have comparison images later. What does the other side look like? Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

MeargleSchmeargl
Yeah, it does look somewhat like a (worn) Crustacean burrow I have, though I'm less sure with the new photos. Well, you know what they say: When in doubt, ask an expert! My burrow. Note the bulge in one side and the indent on the other side. Plantguy
Hey Jack, these guys are the ones that drive me nuts! I'd have brought them all home! I recognize the 1st as being a possible distal phalange of some type with those depressions. I wouldnt have guessed horse without more views. I have one that I tentatively id'd as equus but yours looks diff but could be the angle. As for all the others I cant tell from the photos but the layering in 2 is different and the pitting/small apparent depressions in 3 intrigues me and I know 4 is special but I cant place it--equus cub foot bone of some type?..Last one makes me think maybe partial periotic of some kind but Im not sure without holding it. What does the other side of #5 look like? Summary....I'm of no help! LOL. I still like looking at this stuff....cause its what we find mostly and ponder over! Thanks for showing us... GeschWhat
The last one looks like it could be a coprolite - obviously that would make it the best find of the day Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
Shellseeker
@Plantguy, A great @Harry Pristis picture on Equus toes: I actually think that the 4th bone is Mastodon toe bone, I think the "V" in these last 2 photos implies a mastodon phalanx. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Thanks Jack. Good photo. Not worn much at all. Makes sense to me. You are making me go get some more unidentified stuff for taking pics of...
