@Troodon:

Did you have a chance to have a close look on the dromaeosaur foot claw and digit from Horseshow canyon? The claw looks suspicious no?

The digit is a composite and the front of the claw was restored.  Only the proximal end of the claw is real. The seller was very upfront on this.

Saturday the show was a very busy place with lots of locals attending some pictures from the Fossil Co-Op which is open all year long.  Its comprised of a number of dealers some are permanent others just there for the show.

I did not take a close look so I do not know but looking at the stand it's probably a replica.  If I go back to that venue I can check.  Most everything they sell is real.

I'm going to take a stab here and say those "eggs" are fake assemblies of egg shell pieces.

There are some fantastic fossils at the Tucson Show this year but according to Pete Larsen president of the BHI tweets the star of the show, and the fossil of the day is this Middle Eocene Limnofregata, an extinct frigate bird from the Green River Formation of Lincoln County Wyoming.  The feathers are still under preparation, but in my estimation, it is the most spectacular fossil bird yet discovered.

Well, now I have a drool river and a flooding problem in my house. Amazing fossil. Is that from 18" layer?

Nope that's how eggs from France are typically found.  Very real.

These are actually very real and always look like that. They’re called Cairanoolithus dughii and are thought to be from a type

of titanosaur from southern France. They’re very different looking from other dinosaur eggs and even other eggs from France.

Thank you again so much for the continued posting of such great pictures. Enough cannot be said and there are not enough thank yous to be said.

As has been said this show is better than the museums I have been to.  Glad that someone like you is around and attended this show and has so much

expertise to add to the pictures and question we all have.  This thread has been absolutely fantastic. Thank you Troodon.

I would love that Hesperotestudo but Tidgy would get tortoise envy.

Is that for sale, or just display?
