So are there any of you that haven't found a trading partner yet?

I remember there being members wanting to do several different trades.

Now comes the long wait for the overseas goody postings.

I sent you a taste of California Roger, hope you like.

I believe that everyone that posted interest in this trade has found a trading partner. As well many of us have already  planned out  multiple trades with others. I myself have sent out 3 trades, and recieved 2. Tomorrow I send 1 more. I told one member that once these trades have been sent out , I would do one with him also. That will be a total of 5 for now

Just checking. I have another three packages going out tomorrow as well.

Looking forward to those picture posts guys ( and gals!).

It's funny, you (darktooth) created the thread so all those timid souls that were afraid to do larger trades in the past could have a chance to do a smaller one on one.

Yet as I am noticing, it's the same small group that are the ones doing it again.

I know there are a lot of lurky-loos out there watching this thread.

You can't win if you don't play.

@caldigger I noticed that too Doren.   Maybe those members who are lurking will warm up to it eventually.  I know that I am having fun doing this.

I do lurk sometimes on this thread (though I don't think I'm the person that you were referring to previously, as you had already sent that reply before I first came here), but I'm afraid I can't really join just yet... :( And that is because my trading material is more of the "lots of nice small things", and I don't really have anything big that I am willing to part with... But it does seem like a great concept, and it sure seems to be successful too, so thank you Dave for bringing forth this idea! :D

I WILL join once I have something available...

Everyone, have fun!

My new acquisition arrived in the mail today. DSC_0488-002.thumb.JPG.75ee5d690bc29f41410c0b8622fb3158.JPG    DSC_0487-001.thumb.JPG.add1a00e3e71c8249abbdebb4805251e.JPG

Thank you @PFOOLEY !! However,I am a bit surprised with you. Being an outstanding member of this Forum, I did NOT expect you to break the rules of this 1,4,1 trade. I'm sad to say I must report you to @Darktooth May he be lenient on you. The infraction? He slipped in  a 2.4.1 trade. Enclosed in the box was this:

To show how nice Forum members can be, last autumn, I created a post of my weekend in Iowa (Fossils and Football) and had a picture of Buckeye necklaces that I had made for the football game.  PFOOLEY commented that there is a Mexican Buckeye where he lives. Not only did he remember this but sent me enough buckeyes to create a special necklace to wear to future Ohio State sporting events. What a surprise!!!!!!!!!!   PS, my necklace and PFOOLEY's cute little buckeyes, and my pug.

@PFOOLEYyou are welcome! I am sorry that in the rush to get it sent out, forget to enclose a brief letter that I wrote, info. It is an Apple Murex from Florida. Unfortunately I lost the label years ago and I don't have the time priod or exact location of where it was found. I have enjoyed looking at it in my cabinet for a long time.  I also would like to thank- you for your wonderful trade item. I love the coloration. Awesome!

Almost forgot to mention that I may have broke my own rule. I told @JohnBrewer that there would be two items in the package I sent him. One item was for the trade with him, and the other was simply a gift for Violet. So I don't know if I technically broke the rule or not. Drats I guess I can't punish  Mike now can I? By the way John the package has been sent.:)

@PFOOLEY, is this ammonite from the Rio Puerco Valley? I have always enjoyed the imagery from there and if so, it would add more to the memories of your trade.

Hi,

I have just understood completely the notion of 1 - 4 - 1! I just needed to read in English and not in French! One for one and not "un - quatre - un" ! :doh!:

My first thought was malichite and azurite.

Could be malachite and azurite, can't see the detail, but it seems to have the form and crumbliness of chrysocolla.

Is it crumbly?

@PFOOLEY I am thinking that this Murex is a Phyllonotus globosus which is found in the Pliocene to Pleistocene deposits of Florida. @MikeR or @Shellseeker might be able to confirm that ID and if I have the most up to date name.

It is a bit crumbly as a few small pieces fell off during shipping.

My package just arrived from Germany today. I really don't know how it made it to my box though. Half the mailing label was missing.

Anyway, thank you Rodger for the nice ammo. It will take a proud spot amongst my collection.

Just remember when you get mine, sometimes great things come in small packages.

Well, the fossil from my personal stash for CBOB has been selected yesterday.

All I need to do now is get my useless Dutch carcass to the postoffice tomorrow and have it sent off overseas!

So the surprise package for CBOB will be on its way as of tomorrow
