I agree, it is certainly a nautiloid cephalopod with a portion of the siphuncle showing.  A more precise ID would require making a polished section, and even then not enough of the specimen may be left to make the ID.

Yes, that's what i was thinking. 

+ 1 for possible orthocone nautiloid cross-section.
